Summary

Voto Latino (VL) is seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships to manage its portfolio of corporate, union and non-profit relationships. Candidate will possess experience developing corporate social responsibility programs, executing grants and be skilled at identifying creative opportunities to further the organization’s goals. Position will work closely with Development staff and consultants to foster new funded relationships and strengthen existing ones. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will oversee VL signature programming, including Power Summit, National Voter Registration Day and Latinx Heritage Month. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will aid with special projects on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Partnerships efforts, setting strategic direction for VL’s work, defining clear goals and measures of success, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring high performance and engagement of team members and consultants
  • Develop and implement a partnership strategy to increase the reach and impact of our ongoing efforts in advancing Voto Latino and Voto Latino Foundation’s focus areas
  • Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact
  • Conceptualize new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit from corporate, foundation, union or other partnerships
  • Oversee key events including: Latinx Heritage Month, National Voter Registration Day, Early Vote Day and Power Summit
  • Draft and execute partner agreements and grants
  • Create and maintain information collection networks
  • Manage reporting and financial tracking of strategic partnership activities
  • Lead creation of materials, toolkits and content as needed
  • Oversee buildout of C3 programming including the VLF Impact Council, volunteer and Employee Resource Group opportunities and regular communications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in development, strategic initiatives or fundraising role for a nonprofit, foundation, campaign organization, union or similar organization
  • Excellent relationship building skills and an entrepreneurial approach that leverages further opportunities
  • Demonstrated track record of setting clear priorities and success in driving a  results-oriented agenda that ties back to organizational long-term goals and strategy
  • Proven ability to negotiate and work with mid- and high- level organizational leadership
  • Strong manager — can guide a team of internal and external staff and consultants to meet goals 
  • Strong leader — supports the work of strategic partnerships and the organization and can represent both effectively internally and externally
  • Creative mindset with flexibility to make adjustments to program structure and goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel may be required
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to and awareness of Latinx civil rights and/or social justice issues

Salary & Benefits

Between $75- $85k salary. Benefits include partial payment of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums and 20 days of PTO.
