Voto Latino Honors CBS News’ Fin Daniel Gómez with the 2025 “Our Voices” Execute Impact Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Voto Latino Foundation, the leading civic engagement organization focused on informing and empowering a new generation of Latino voters, is proud to announce CBS News Executive Director of White House and Politics and political director Fin Daniel Gómez will receive the 2025 Our Voices Execute Impact Award.
Fin Daniel Gómez is a transformative journalist with a storied career spanning nearly two decades in political and international reporting. As CBS News’ political director, Gómez has played a pivotal role in overseeing coverage of the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election, while mentoring the next generation of campaign journalists. He is also a trusted voice on CBS News’ 24/7 streaming network and has covered five presidential campaigns and four administrations.
Gómez has long championed the coverage of underreported communities, their stories and the issues they face. He broke ground as the first Latino journalist to serve on the White House Correspondents’ Association board in its 111-year history. He also became the first Latino to hold the role of political director at any of the five major U.S. news networks. Now, as political director at CBS News, he is actively reshaping the landscape by uplifting not only Latino talent, but paving the way for the next generation of political journalists. His leadership is not only transformative but essential to building newsrooms that reflect the country they cover. Throughout his career, Gómez has reported extensively on Latin America, U.S. political campaigns, and major international events in Iraq, Ukraine, and Myanmar.
“Fin Daniel Gómez exemplifies the power of representation in journalism. Fin has not only broken barriers but has also paved the way for future generations of Latino journalists. Through his sharp political analysis, fearless storytelling, and tireless commitment to mentoring young reporters, Fin is shaping a more inclusive and informed democracy,” said María Teresa Kumar, President and Co-Founder of the Voto Latino Foundation. “We are honored to present him with the Execute Impact Award, celebrating his enduring contributions to journalism and his role in amplifying the narratives that define our democracy.”
For nearly two decades, Voto Latino has fought to ensure that Latino voices are being heard. Not only at the ballot box, but we also know how vital it is for diverse voices to be heard in newsrooms, on air, and behind the scenes. Fin Daniel Gómez will be celebrated at the Voto Latino Foundation’s annual Our Voices reception on April 25, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
